I cannot express how happy I am to finally have a home studio to shoot in. Living in the Midwest, winters can seem to go on forever! Seriously though, we probably won’t get to shoot as early as October to as late as April – that’s 6 months! 6 months of no shooting is crazy to me! Sometimes we would have to rent out studios or book a hotel room or a home on AirBnB just to keep our creative juices going and to keep money flowing. Now, our studio, it’s a small one, but it works! And I’m so excited to start using it to shoot everything from portraits to flat lays to creative shoots. We are still in the process of getting more backdrops, unique furniture and fun props to add to our current collection. But as of right now, we have what we need to create great portraits.
It’s cold today… the coldest it’s been in a long time, so the city is practically shut down. No school for kids, no work for some adults, including myself. I decided to play in the studio. Our puppo Bo Jangles, AKA Bo Jackson Pollack was glad to sit in front of the camera today for some nice doggie portraits. Of course it included a large amount of treats, but it worked and he did a wonderful job! He’s always so willing when there are goodies for him.
Stay warm this winter. I know it seems like winter can take forever to be over, but trust me when I say, summer will come!
